Good portions, Food was great. Staff was attentive , not sure what else to say. Its ridiculous Yelp forces you to have 85 characters. I am not a wordy person , and like to keep my Reponses short and to the point. But oh no , not with Yelp,.
We have been coming to American BBQ for years, and this was our first time since the name/brand change. We were happy to see they kept the staples of American BBQ on the new menu! We each got a different BBQ plate, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and ribs. Everyone enjoyed their BBQ and the sides were excellent. The service was great and the food came out so quick!
Well it ain't the 4th of July without some good old fashion American BBQ Nothing beats local. And this joint is a casual, fun environment with great vibes all the while serving some delicious wood-smoked dishes for the masses to enjoy. 3 Meat Combo Your choice of the three services with a choice of two sides. Pulled chicken, pulled pork & brisket. Baked beans and Mac & Cheese for the sides. Served with fresh made cornbread. Our server Barbie was an absolute treat. Yes her name is actually Barbie! lol It was a great time spent with good friend and great food. Needless to say, me & my fellow Americans were very happy.

An ode to American BBQ - My boyfriend and I had a late lunch this Saturday at American BBQ. He's been coming here since highschool and has been wanting to take me here since we met. I worked for one of your greater Boston BBQ restaurant competitors, so this review comes from the heart. To start, the service was amazing. Our server Barbie was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. She gave me fantastic food recommendations (very yummy btw) and explained the variety and flavor profiles of each sauce enhancing the BBQ experience. There is something to be said about eating at a restauraunt and hospitality that goes above and beyond. As Will Guidara says in his book, Unreasonability "Hospitality and excellence. Those two concepts? They're not friends" they're interlinked. We enjoyed our conversations. Secondly, the food was mouth watering. I had the Pulled Pork BBQ Plate & Combo. My boyfriend had the 1/2 Rack St. Louis Pork Ribs Plate & Combo. The meat serving portions were giant!!!! Jaw = on the floor. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. We LOVED the cornbread. The pricing for what you get is incredible. Thank you, Barbie for the amazing experience and we will both be back!!!
Heard great things about the ribs, and they were all true! Fall of the bone, tender, and delicious! Like with most ribs, I got a little messy...but I didn't care one bit! Well worth the trip, especially with the friendly staff and incredible service!
I just can't say enough about this place! We had a retirement lunch at my work catered by American Bbq. Food arrived piping hot, was on time, came with warming trays & utensils! Everyone RAVED about the food & the guy who was retiring after 35 years was so happy! Allison in their catering department was such a sweetie on the phone & made the whole experience flawless! Thank you so much! Run... don't walk... & try them out!
This is my go to place for after golf! They have generous portions and quality BBQ I absolutely love their combo plate with brisket, but all the other meats are just as good (had the chicken, pulled pork, sausage) And all the sides are delicious so I always try to switch it up. I think my favorite is the mushroom, onion, and peppers, but the mashed potatoes are a close second.
What a great BBQ gem located in Rowley, MA. Cute exterior with a cozy rustic interior. It smelled like BBQ heaven as soon as I walked in! My entree of choice was the pulled chicken sandwich. DELICIOUS, even down to the fresh firm buns , yes ma'am! Our friendly server brought over an array of sauces , and yes I loaded up my pulled chicken with the chipotle bbq sauce. The homemade chips were perfect with this sandwich, so happy I chose them. For dessert we had the cookie skillet and the chocolate cake, both were fresh and a perfect end to our meal. Can't wait to come back and try more !
My food was delicious! My sandwich was so full of brisket and not overly sauced that I decided to forget the bun! The meat was flavorful and solidly meat very little fat. The flavor was smoky and delicious! My sweet potato fries were also delicious and did not need any dipping sauce. For dessert I ordered the key lime pie to go and I can't wait to try this homemade house speciality. The inside bar looks enticing but on a beautiful weather day the outside dining is the way to go!
